What to expect from the return of events
From today - Monday 29 March 2021 - we are pleased to be able to resume cycling events and activities as part of Step 1: Phase 2 of the UK Government’s roadmap for easing Covid-19 restrictions. We are very excited to return to delivering and organising sportive events, with our first one back after a rather long break being the New Forest Classic event on the weekend of the 17th and 18th of April 2021.
The first few events back will look slightly different to ‘normal’ events. This is to ensure that our sportives adhere to the guidance outlined by the British Government (read here) and the British Cycling ‘The Way Forward’ document on how to plan a safe return of cycling events.
We, therefore, wanted to outline a few key aspects of what you can expect from the return of our events and the processes that will be implemented.
What to expect from the return of events
No spectators inside the event ‘village’ during the duration of the sportive.
Only Takeaway Food + Drink will be served, no tables/seating will be provided.
You must stick to your pre-selected start time (selected upon entry to the sportive).
You must adhere to the UKCE COVID-19 Processes and Procedures
You must not attend the sportive if you have or have had any of the following symptoms in the previous 14 days
High Temperature
New Persistent Cough
Loss of Smell or Taste
We envisage that we will be able to review the COVID-19 Processes and procedures in place at our events from the week beginning May 17th inline with when Step 3 of the Governmental roadmap is due to come into play. We certainly hope that by our summer events there will be the chance to enjoy your finish line beer / iced coffee with some pizza inside the event village before heading off home.
