Event Specialist - Full Time Permanent

We are looking for an ‘Events Specialist’ to join our team.
Report to: Operations Manager

Role outline:
To work with the organising team to deliver high quality market leading events providing a rider experience that exceeds expectation and consistently grows market share. A member of the operations team who work to ensure the smooth delivery of all events, focusing on packing, course signage/delivery and venue setup.

You must:

  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Prepared to travel with overnight stay in the UK
  • Prepared to help with the physical manual handling of equipment and stock.
  • Prepared to work weekends. (Thurs – Monday working pattern)
  • Prepared to work outdoor for long period of time.


  • Co-ordinate the laying of course pre-event and timely removal post event.
  • Fulfil any event day role including but not exclusively: SAG wagon, feed station, course check, course collect, event centre co-ordinator, car parking, registration, start finish line, rider pick-ups.
  • Work with the Event manager and other event specialists to ensure pre – post event preparation is efficient and smooth.
  • Work with the team to pack/unpack and maintain venue vans, feed station vans and other event vehicles. 
  • Complete risk assessments of routes & document marshal points. 

Skills (required):

  • Passion for cycling
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately, maintaining a consistently high level of output
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Able to read maps and plot routes through various mapping software

Skills (desirable):

  • Previous cycling event experience
  • Competent user of Microsoft office
  • Knowledge of the cycling event industry


  • Passionate and enthusiastic about cycling
  •  Able to work to own initiative and prioritise workload to work at maximum efficiency
  •  Able to think like a consumer and understand what riders want from a cycling route and event.

Casual Event Day Assistants - Zero Hour Contract

Day rate From £117 - £145 (plus holiday)  Dependant on role and experience.

UK Cycling Events are looking for Event Assistants to join a small team and be an integral part of the UK’s leading provider of cycling events. We seek energetic, well organised, reactive individuals with great communication skills. Previous event experience will be beneficial and the ability to drive manual vehicles is essential.

The role is varied depending on the need of the event and you will be involved in all manner of jobs including route marshalling, registering participants, assisting on the course route, working at feed stations and building and packing down the event site.

This role is fairly physical so whilst you definitely don’t have to be ultra fit you do need to be prepared to get stuck in, help load/unload equipment from vans, be on your feet all day, be able to lift and carry and enjoy working in the outdoors!

This role will be on a zero hours contract and the amount of work on offer is based on the needs of the business and is predominantly weekend work.

A period of training will be provided, in various locations.
