Rider Stories | Scott

Posted on Wednesday, 14 August, 2024

We’re back with our Sunday Series of Rider stories and this week we’ve Scott to share with you all.

Scott was a convert to UKCE sportives during the COVID-19 lockdowns when we held our Virtual series of events. Scott first participated with us during the Jimmy's Keep Your Chin Up 50km virtual event, which was an event we loved holding as the guys over at Jimmy’s are always a lot of fun!

Since taking part in the virtual events during 2020 Scott is now taking part in up to four sportives a year and this joy of being out on the bike has prompted him to enter the Weymouth 70.3 Ironman this September.

Scott will be joining us on August 31st for our Cotswolds Classic sportive as a final big training ride ahead of the 70.3 Ironman.

Looking into 2025 Scott will be aiming to complete and compete in the full Ironoman in Tenby, Wales and will be using UKCE sportives as training rides.

We wish Scott all the best for Weymouth 70.30 and look forward to seeing him up his training next year ahead of Ironman Wales.

We know a lot of our riders at UKCE use our sportives as training for bigger challenges such as London → Paris, Ironman events, L’Etape and LEJOG as taking part in sportives takes out the stress of things such as route planning and they add that piece of mind that if there is a medical or mechanical problem then someone will come and scoop you up quickly.

Have a look through Scott's Instagram on - @sthomas_tris and reach out to him if you’re taking part in the Cotswolds Classic or even Weymouth 70.3!

Finally, a huge thank you to Scott for sharing what he's up to! We honestly really enjoy hearing from you all. So if you ever have anything you want to share then drop Elyse an e-mail at [email protected] no matter how small it might be, be bold and hit send!
