The Yorkshire Classic

Saturday 10th April 2021 | CANCELLED

UPDATE: 23 February 2021 - EVENT CANCELLED

Following the Government announcement yesterday (Monday 22nd February) on the roadmap for the easing of lockdown restrictions, we have made the decision to cancel the Yorkshire Classic Sportive which was originally due to be held on Saturday 10th April 2021.

We believe that cycling sportives will be able to resume when Step 2 of the roadmap is initiated due to them being 'organised outdoor sports'. However, Step 2 isn't due to commence until April 12th at the earliest and it is therefore with regret that the Yorkshire Classic event on April 10th simply cannot go ahead.

If you were entered into this event, you will receive an email about transferring to the Yorkshire Tour cycling event taking place on the 5th June 2021. If you do not get an email or have any questions, please get in touch using the form on our Contact Us page.

We are really sorry for the disappointment with the cancellation of this ride as we know how many of you were looking forward to it.

Our Classic Series is designed with all riders in mind. With four routes to choose from and nothing too technical we would love to see as many riders joining us for one of our Classic events as possible.

Starting just outside the walled city of York our four Yorkshire Classic Routes showcase the glorious areas of both North Yorkshire and East Riding of Yorkshire.

The long route takes you up and over enough vertical ascent to give your legs a true taste of the area, whilst our Rook ride at only 142m of climbing is perfect for anyone wishing to explore the area for the very first time on two wheels.

The toughest climb of the ride is a short and sharp 1.9km burst with an average of 6.5% as you come out of the village of Leavening. Negotiate that, and the rest is 'rolling' through the beautiful countryside Yorkshire has to offer.

Of course you’ll be rewarded for all your efforts as you cross the finish line to receive a finishers medal, beer from Freedom Brewery and other goodies from our partners at Jimmy’s Iced Coffee and OTE sports.

We’ll be back in Yorkshire for our Tour series event in September but for now we hope to see you in April for our Classic series event
