Surrey and Kent offer some of the best riding terrain local to London. The regions can be reached quite easily by bike. If you’re looking to keep your legs fresh before your ride you can always grab the train to Dorking from Waterloo, putting you right in the middle of the Surrey Hills after only 50 minutes or head out to Maidstone in Kent from Victoria, which will take you just over an hour.
If you’re looking to take on Box Hill akin to the stars of the London Olympic road race 2012, our very own Cycling Weekly Box Hill Original Sportive (link through?) is the one for you. Following parts of the route that saw Mark Cavendish and Bradley Wiggins fight for Olympic glory in front of a home crowd, you will take some of the best cycling climbs of South East England.
