Opening MTB event for 2013

The Wiggle Southern Rough Ride is the opening MTB event in the 2013 Wiggle Super Series and is fantastic way to start your year in the saddle. This classic South Downs Mountain Bike route starts from a new and improved venue of the Amberley Working Museum which is situated in the heart of the South Downs. The route has a number of leg warming hills and exciting descents on the Downs based between the Amberley, Arundel & Stenying.

The improved 2013 route, has a route that can be ridden all year around and follows some awesome bridleways and the classic South Downs way itself. With 3 ride length of 33 mile (Epic), 25 mile (Standard) and 16 miles (Short), you can choose how much fun you can handle… So start your 2013 season on a high and get out and ride.


Last years event 'sold out' well before the event as this ride has quickly established itself as a must do early season MTB ‘Classic’.

We want to encourage young riders to enjoy the pleasure of cycling. That's why all riders under 16 years ride for free when accompanied by a paying adult!

Online pre-entry

Online pre-entry is the easiest way of entering and saves £3.00 per person vs. entering on the day. Online pre-entry will save you time on the day of the event allowing you to simply pick up your registration pack from the 'Pre entered collection point' and avoid having to queue up. Please note: if a event reaches its capacity we will have to close the event to riders wanting to enter on the day. It is therefore best to pre enter online to avoid disappointment!

On the day entry

On the day entries are available at all our events as long as the event has not sold out prior to the event day. On the day entries are subject to an additional £3.00 per person surcharge. Payment can be made with cash or cheque. You can fill out an entry form when you arrive at the event. One entry form must be completed per person. Wiggle Customers will not be able to receive any loyalty discounts on the day.

Awards

Although all our rides are non competitive events (i.e. not races), most people still like to know how well they've done. With this in mind we will time each participants ride. When you complete your ride your time will be calculated and these timings, along with the timing Award you achieved, will be displayed on the Website. Each rider will receive a timing award of either; bronze, silver or gold, depending on their average speed. Of course, some riders aren't bothered about all these awards and just cycle for the experience and stunning scenery.
