Set in the seaside town of Bournemouth this sportive draw on many years experience of the local ‘Arrow cycling club’ to put on a stunning sportive across the 3 Counties of Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire. The route balances quiet roads, sublime scenery, and the challenge of the 3 quality climbs of, Win Green, Bulbarrow and Milton Abbas. You will enjoying the panoramic views of distant Somerset from Dorset’s highest point Bulbarrow, the picture postcard view of Milton Abbey School Playing Fields on the way down and the model village of Milton Abbas going up the climb of the same name.

About the Bournemouth Arrow CC:

Whether it’s endurance road rides, off-road, club time trials, the cut and thrust of track racing, or teaching cycling skills to our kids, Bournemouth Arrow members experience it all.

We like to set challenges for our members, this Sportive will demonstrate that.  Even our summer evening 10 mile time trials programme, with our avoidance of super smooth main roads, guarantees a challenge too.  And if you want a speed challenge, and we mean Chris Hoy type speed, then we do that too.

So if you like a challenge, then start with the Sportive, and when you’ve recovered, come and join us for our other challenges.  Have a look at our web-site which gives more details of who we are and what we do.  If it was easy, it wouldn’t be such fun, do it with other like minded people and it’s twice the fun.

Breaking News – Britain’s first ever outdoor 250 metre Track to be built in Bournemouth in 2010

Arrow’s Go Ride kids can’t wait for the new Track !

The facility is set in the heart of Bournemouth where the Arrow already run its Go Ride sessions teaching skills to kids and will comprise an Olympic size 250 metre tarmac track.  This will provide not only a competition facility where riders can develop their skills on its 33 degree banking, but also support more modest ambitions using a flat inner tarmac safety zone where recreational cyclists and joggers of all ages and fitness levels can exercise.  In the track centre is a flat grass in-field which sits in the track amphitheatre where our Go Ride club will meet and where local families and schools can enjoy informal games and recreation.  This area will also form a perfect start/finish point for winter cyclocross, proving the facility to be an all year Cycling Centre for Bournemouth.
